ABOUT US
Yunosuke Aoki was an eccentric entrepreneur who pursued various business opportunities during the early Showa Era of Japan. From tap dancing to acting to opening coffee shops, he pursued many careers and eventually became the founder of the world-renowned Benihana.
In 1964, Yunosuke, who had been yearning to expand his business to the United States, opened ‘Benihana of Tokyo’ in Manhattan, New York. This introduced the ‘Teppanyaki’ style of cooking and table side performance to America. His idea was a huge success and was vital in sparking a Japanese food boom in the United States.
Benihana Bekkan’s Teppanyaki has been arranged and styled for the Japanese customer, focusing on the chef’s precision and skill. Benihana Bekkan Teppanyaki prides itself in serving the highest quality products while continually striving to achieve the best flavors.
